Before jazz and rock&roll, there was the blues. Before soul music there was gospel. Before country there was folk music.
Hope Street fuses all these genres with a dynamic interplay of voices and instruments: Lisa Guile, tenor sax and vocals; Michael Munday, vocals and guitar; Rebecca Askew, double bass and vocals; and Phil Naylor, drums.
Their influences are many and varied: Ry Cooder, Howlin' Wolf, The Band, the Staples Singers, Charles Lloyd, Bill Frisell and many more.
